Next week, five of our developers are headed to Las Vegas for Magento Imagine 2017. In addition to enriching their brains, some are hoping to return to England with a bit more cash in their pockets!
We interviewed some of them to see what conference sessions they were most looking forward to and why.
“There’s a lot of interesting stuff going on. I’m really curious in seeing what they talk about in “The Future of Active Magento Cyber Security”, I’m hoping for some interesting discussion on automated security testing for Magento websites. I know that Magento have been very security focussed recently for M1 (releasing multiple patches per year), but it’d be interesting to see what they’re putting in place to keep M2 locked down from the start. I’m also keen on seeing “User Experience at Magento” as it should give us a behind-the-scenes look at how they prototype and test their software. To quote the description: “You will receive a transparent view of the UX design process and takeaways that you can apply to your business.””
– Luke Rodgers, Back End Project Lead
I’m looking forward to “Improving Mobile Conversion: The 50% You’re Missing” because we are seeing that desktop traffic is now 30% or less. Mobile and tablet making up the remainder. I’m also looking forward to “Special Preview: See New Magento B2B Capabilities in Action” because of the B2B feature set included and the “DevExchange & Networking Event” because it’s always good to talk approaches with other businesses and merchants.
– Brett Cooper, Technical Director
Whilst Brett says he is going to take part in a bit of Blackjack, Luke says that he’s probably going to “avoid the card games”. However, movies and television have assured him that “playing roulette is a sure thing.”
Good luck, Luke. Have fun, guys!
